German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat) Dog

MAX the Dog needs a home

Max is a 2 year old 55lb german shepherd mix.

Max will need an experienced owner due to behavioural and medical issues.

Max loves attention and affection so much that he begins to get excited. hyper focus, and air snap at people he is excited to see. This will need to be corrected with positive reinforcement manners training. We think he may have seperation anxiety and should not be left alone for long hours.

He is very vocal when trying to get your attention and therefore would not be best suited for an apartment/condo.

Max gets excited by movement and therefore would not do well in a home with small children or small pets.

Max was taken to the vet clinic for radiographs of his hips and has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Hip displaysia means the abnormal growth of development of the hips and is a common condition of large breed dogs. This essentially refers to a poor fit of the `ball and socket` nature of the hip. Max has not showed any signs of being in pain due to this but surgery may be needed in the future.

In the mean time Max could benefit off of nutritional joint supplements, and symptomatic anti-inflammatory medications. These will need to be discussed with your veterinarian.
